Livingston
Livingston is a lively suburb of restaurants and high-end shopping, and is also the home of St. Barnabas Medical Center. As such, Livingston is regularly featured in NJ Monthly‘s ranking of top doctors in NJ as so many of them are affiliated with St. Barnabas, one of the best hospitals in the country according to US News and World Report. Livingston has an interesting history, being named for the first governor of the state (as opposed to colony) of New Jersey, and its historical sentiment still rings true in this new, old town. The Livingston Town Center, a fairly recent upgrade of the center of town shopping area, is a pretty combination of luxury stores and residences as well as old standbys like Menzel’s Violins and Silverman’s Cards and Gifts – “neo-retro,” as NJ Monthly puts it.
