Glen Ridge Parks & Gardens

There are several parks located in Glen Ridge including Forest Avenue Field, Hurrell Field, Carteret Park, Sherman Avenue Field, and Clay Field. Forest Avenue Field offers residents a softball/youth baseball diamond, a basketball court, playground, and field hockey/soccer field. Hurrell Field's features include a field football/soccer field, quarter-mile all-weather running track, baseball diamond, basketball court, and field house. Carteret Parks offers a soccer field, playground, baseball diamond, softball diamond, street hockey rink, and field house. Glen Ridge is also home to the Glen Bike Path and Gazebo. 

The Freeman Gardens, located at the intersection of Maolis Avenue and Hawthorne Avenue, are home to over 300 rose bushes that are tended to by volunteers. The gardens are open for leisurely afternoon picnics, strolls, event bookings, and more. Contact Kevin Sherry to learn more. 

Glen Ridge Recreation

Founded in 1894, and one of the oldest private golf clubs in New Jersey, the Glen Ridge Country Club is a family-friendly, yet elegant, private club that offers members over 6,000 yards and 18 holes of golf, a fitness center, several indoor and outdoor pools, a kiddie pool, an Olympic-sized lap pool, locker rooms for both men and women, a hard tennis court, four Har-Tru tennis courts, exceptional kid summer camps, and several brand new and renovated dining locations as well as a poolside tiki bar. 

The Glen Ridge Community Pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day on Clark Street and offers a variety of swimming and recreational activities. Pool features include a patio area for picnics and parties, a water slide, lap lanes, a separate toddler pool, swim lessons, water features, and more. 

For the athletic, and not-so-athletic, children of Glen Ridge, the Glen Ridge Athletic Association sponsors and organizes sports activities. They are committed to providing athletic experiences to all children, regardless of athletic ability. For children with a more advanced athletic ability, GRAA offers opportunities to participate in more serious levels of play. Sports offerings include floor hockey, lacrosse, softball, baseball, football, basketball, and more. 

The Freeman Tennis Courts offer residents with membership the opportunity to play on six clay courts open seven days a week April through October. 

Glen Ridge Paddle offers two paddle tennis courts open year-round and is home to several men's and women's leagues. nd
